We have three choruses who all sing in the Barbershop style;

Although we are mostly comprised of students from The University of Manchester,
we are open to anyone of all ages and abilities.



The MUBS Mixed Chorus


The MUBS Mixed Chorus is open to everyone!


In 2019, the chorus competed for the first time in Bournemouth, at the 2019 British Association of Barbershop Singers (BABS) convention, where they placed an astounding 4th!


The chorus cannot wait to compete again at the 2021 BABS Mixed Chorus Competition in Bournemouth.

Mantunian Way


Mantunian Way are the MUBS male-voice chorus who sing a cappella in the barbershop harmony style.


They have been competing for 6 years, and consistently score very well. Since they are one of the only university choruses who compete, they are well-known in the national barbershop community.


After placing 8th (of 35) in 2019, they will be pushing for a higher spot at the 2021 BABS Male Chorus Competition.

Ultraviolet are the MUBS female-voice chorus who sing a cappella in the barbershop harmony style.


This year, Ultraviolet are thrilled to be performing for an evaluation score, at the 2021 BABS Mixed Chorus Competition in Bournemouth.
